Chris' Notes:
Don't Walk Past was written on Jason's borrowed Roland Jupiter 8 and TR 808, I played bass live against the sequence onto a mono reel to reel. We had a hard time figuring out how the demo was programmed when it came time to do the "real" version with producer Steve Nye. This was the biggest return on the fewest lyrics. The breakdown featured me tape "scratching" and Jason throwing his watch onto the prepared piano strings. At the end Jason and Owen let loose with the tribal beat. For the video we were trying to combine the aesthetic of a new movie called "Blade Runner" with the look of "The Hunger".

Chinese Graffiti was recorded at a schoolhouse studio near London Ontario. It features Boys Brigade keyboardist, and soon to be producer, Malcolm Burn along with vocals by Sherry Kean. Sherry was in The Sharks, a band we loved and I sometimes played guitar with. This song won a CASBY for Best Single and Paul won for Best Male Performer. This was the first track that Kevin and I produced.
